Research and planning: Questionnaire

To find out what the target audience is for my horror movie, and also find out some information on what people want in a teaser trailer i compiled a questionnaire that I will give to people to fill out. I will then interpret the information to help make my teaser trailer.

From this I learnt that people who like Horrors may also like Thrillers, and also that the film certificates on films people watch is dependant on their age. As the people who watch thriller and horrors have tended to be under 18 and watched films with a 15 certificate I am going to make my film a psychological thriller, as it tends to be gruesome violence that would put my film or trailer up to an 18 as it may be deemed inappropriate, and due to the media causing a moral panic around theories such as the copycat theory I wouldn't want to make the film to gruesome as the media would assume that it will provoke similar violence in society and therefore the BBFC would have to put the film out as an 18.

Research and Planning: The Test

This is a trailer i did to get used to working in a group and also to try out certain ideas and editing skills.
I used black and white to create the effect that this moment is not in the present but more like a recalled memory r something that happened in the past. The angles used were used to make the officer look superior so I used a high angle shot looking up at the officer, and to make the arrested look inferior I used low angle shots to looking down on her.

Also to help emphasise the idea that this is a conversation between two people and they are connected only by the situation rather than previous scenes or experiences, I used shot revers shot as this helps to see both ends of the conversation without creating a close bond between the two characters.

After looking through film genres, and seeing what techniques are used in action genres, I have made my own action film poster. To refresh myself with photoshop and also to test my own ideas for the film poster im will be making for the project.
