Research and planning: Magazine cover (final touches)

The magazine masthead is made large so that it would be easily distinguishable for the target audience. The black and white colours of the masthead go with the three colour scheme of the magazine (red, black and white). The only extra colour used is the gold which is meant to represent to colour of the award given at the OSCARS and in this way I have stepped away from a stereotypical 3 colour scheme, but not so much that the magazine pushes to many boundaries and still maintains a conventional style.

The film captive can be easily portrayed as a thriller as the blood and red colour scheme used shows that some sort of violence is going to take place. Although the film CAPTIVE is mentioned the article is mainly about the actor within the film, much like the Total Film magazine analysed previously in the blog. As the article is about the actor at uses the new film he has been in to create the style of the magazine and the actor, clearly Rhys Wood will be in a thriller film as it is stated in the main heading, his profession is also given away as the suit implies he is a businessman of some sort.

Research and planning: Poster

The following image is what my film poster looks like so far. Although some adjustments may be done later.

Research and planning: Feature film magazine

The following is a completed version of my magazine front cover, although some fifnshing touches may occur later if I decide so.

Research and planning: Poster pictures

Image using for poster
I recently took pictures designed for my film poster based on previous drafts published throughout my blog. The image quality and effect given by the bag and fake blood (red food dye) provided a really good effect and the following image is what I will be using for my magazine poster.

Research and planning: Magazine photos

Using a high quality SLR camera i took some pictures designed to be used for my magazine. I used a sheet in the background as white is going to be one of my key colours in the magazine front cover. The images that were produced were not of great quality and had red eye. The white sheet used in the background didnt provide me with the look I wanted either.
Image used for magazine picture
I retook the pictures instead using a breeze-brick wall painted white so that the colour scheme was still correct but the wall gave the image a better grungy look. I also used red food dye to give the blood effect whchich provided a better colour and substancy than the fake blood that others have used in projects.

Research and Planning: Magzine

I have decided that for my film magazine the main heading will be based around the actor within film rather than the film and it's characters. I got this ideas from Total film which looked at the actors in Harry Potter rather than the film Harry Potter: Deathly hallows.
